environments: antipodean armchair travel is
a compilation album that offers a seamless musical journey
of ambient sounds.
Way back in 1995 a group of like-minded musicians frustrated
with the lack of outlets for their less than mainstream
electronic recordings began an independent label that
was to evolve into what is now Sydney’s Thunk Recordings.
The first releases for Think Communications (the precursor
label to Thunk Recordings) were two CD’s entitled Environments,
a collection of highly talented Australian artists which
gained instant acclaim and set a precedent for the quality
and attention to detail of the labels' output.
Since that time, Thunk has pursued a mainly dance-floor
oriented path although it’s members never lost their
passion for the laid back, ambient electronica that
the Environments series captured. And strangely, whilst
most electronic music falls foul of increasingly short
life spans, the Environments records sound as fresh
today as they did when they were first released.
For this reason, and for the benefit of those who missed
out on the long since deleted original versions, Thunk
has succumb to demand and presents environments:
antipodean armchair travel, a double-CD release
containing BOTH of the original albums with over 2 hours
of outstanding Australian production.
Disc 2, track 5 "Sex In The
Morning" written and produced by Jasper Russell
and Adam Pierce. Copyright 1996 The 5000 Fingers of
