Re-fashioned is a compilation of electronically
restitched Antipodean classics from the 80's, from the
Groovescooter team and fashion label, Jeremy.
A collection of today's grooviest underground dance
and electronic producers remodeling Australian and New
Zealand 70's and 80's classics like Howzat (Sherbet),
Get That Jive (Dragon) and Computer Games (Mi-sex).
It moves from quirky electro funk, thru flea circus
ska and quirky percussive tech-house, to minimal beatlessness,
drum 'n' bass and darker territories.
There's some amazing stuff on here. From faTT deX and
Minuteman's dark and scary version of the Model's 'I
Hear Motion' to Paul Capsis' gorgeous tribute to
Marcia Hines' '(Without) You' and the wickedly
playful 'Computer Games' by The 5000 Fingers
of Dr.T., this is truly a musical merry-go-round which
is definitely worth the ride.
Track 1 "Computer Games"
refashioned by Jasper Russell and Adam Pierce. Vocals
by Tammy Bremmen. This production copyright 2000 The
5000 Fingers of Dr.T. Originally performed by Mi-Sex
on the band's 1979 Grafitti Crimes. Check
out The Fingers video
clip.
